Next book news

No, this post isn't about the next book in the Secrets of the Hidden series. I'm actually thrilled to announce my next ebook, a stand alone book, yet to be titled, will be available by mid-July. It's a slightly different take on mermaids, and  completely apart from Hidden Among Us. This tale is more a paranormal romance which is very new to me. I've never written any type of a romance before, so I'm excited to hear what everyone thinks.

I'll post as soon as I upload it which may be sooner, I don't know yet. We shall see!!

Yet another book cover change

I'm so indecisive! I've changed my cover once again. It will take about 24 hrs to upload the newest one. Eventually I'll have another book uploaded and that cover will become my main focus.

Newest obsession

We're pretty addicted to Netflix lately and once Time Warner decides to add HBO Go as an option I know that'll be our new best friend ( especially since the new season of True Blood has started and they give options for advanced viewings of upcoming episodes through Go!). Lately on Netflix we've been checking out a lot of the nature shows, ya know, real animal kingdom stuff. The big cats are fantastic!

Night is a documentary style show with Brandon McMillan in which he tries to film animals in their natural habitats at night. I get so excited when I see people get close to huge beasts, mostly because I think everyone has a morbid fascination with risk and danger.

 Personally I love wild animals. They're gorgeous and majestic, completely deserving of the natural word. Man being the world's number one predator is really destroying all that is beautiful. The number of extinctions and near extinctions due to man are disgusting. It breaks my heart to watch these shows and see what we do to the earth and all its creatures.

One day, when I actually can dedicate time to it, I'd love to get involved in animal rescue and rehabilitation. That's a distant goal :( . Until then I gots the indescribable job of having kiddies to raise. One day, though, one day.

A sad and untimely death

The death of Jackass's Ryan Dunn is a sad and eye opening tragedy. My husband and my brothers bonded over many episodes of Jackass back in the day. A lot of people saw them as idiots, some found them incredibly relatable, and many believed those guys to be invincible. Truth is, those guys were basically hilarious stuntmen who were fortunate enough to grow up with one another. What you perceived them to be was your own opinion. They may have started as somewhat amateurs but along the way they built themselves up to something great.

It is an unfortunate way for someone to pass, may he rest in peace.

Book Cover Drama

I can't decide on one cover. the more I look at it the more I don't like the one I have now. I'm thinking this might be better:

It's the same but brighter. I don't know, I'll figure it out. Just busy driving myself crazy fixing it to my liking. Ugh.

Took long enough

It took me forever to get my book online, because of all the fantastical life changing events and whatnot. My ebook is now for sale on barnesandnoble.com and should be up on amazon.com in the next few days. Smashwords.com has it on sale in the formats for most other ereaders now. I changed the cover a tiny bit to make it clearer to read.

Today is Father's Day and we're taking my hubby out to eat for lunch and later to a BBQ friends of ours are having. It's a good day to reflect on how far we've come and how wonderful a husband and father he is. So far the day is going great. Wishing a happy and safe Father's Day to all the fathers out there!!

Upload

I just uploaded Hidden Among Us online. Now I know that even with all the proofreaders I can find there is still a chance of editing errors. If any are found please email me at christinaeb103@gmail.com to let me know so that I may correct them. Please excuse the errors in this post, I am using my phone and it is acting weird.

Another note: I have come to the understanding that some people may find this book to start out a little slow. I did this on purpose because I feel it is important to the story. Cross my heart, if you do try the 15% sample, just give the rest of the book a chance and you will find the result much more satisfying.

Without much credit under my belt to back me up, I can only go on my word. As a first time, self-publishing ebook author, I have my fingers crossed and will not only openly accept criticism but welcome it! Just be nice when you're being mean, please.

Very Excited

So after another setback of pregnancy pains I can happily say that I have just finished the cover art for this particular book. My book Hidden Among Us will definitely be uploaded by this weekend and hopefully up for sale by next week. I've been working hard on getting this book in particular proofed and out. I have several more written and depending on time and whatever this pregnancy allows me, I can *fingers crossed* have another up by next month and the second in the Secrets of the Hidden series up in the fall.

How life has changed

I am officially 4 months and 3 days pregnant! It was rough in the beginning but things are definitely looking up. So I'm fully recuperated and I've finally gotten all my energy back. After a few months of complete and udder nausea and exhaustion, to the point where is was difficult to get out of bed, I'm ready to get back into the game.

 My only hurdle now is deciding on cover art for my book. I am doing the work myself and have a few sketches drawn up, but I can't make a final decision. Figures, all this time and cover art is holding me back. I have a new timeline and I'll make a decision by the end of the week. YAY!
