Busy Life

Haven't gotten too much done as far as self publishing and writing lately. With my son's karate class, sewing, and painting, I don't have time for any additions. Soon though. The goal is before February is out, but who knows if that'll stick. lol

On Friday, my son had karate testing. He was promoted to novice yellow belt and named student of the month. For the month of February he leads the class and we have a sign to put in the yard we don't have. It states that he is the student of the month for the karate school. So very exciting for him. All weekend he told everyone and he wore the special red, white, and blue belt he gets to wear to class all month. I'm so proud!

So before the end of February is the goal, time allotting. Fingers crossed!

First Post Time!!

This is my first in what will end up being a long line of posts. These next few months will be extremely busy for me, I'll be into the usual shenanigans as well as trying entirely new things.

Writing has been a huge part of my life since I was able to pick up a pencil. At 7 yrs old I wrote only poetry, consisting mainly of dragons. I wrote my first short story when I was 10. Through the years I've written many short stories and books, not so much poetry anymore, :(  all unpublished.

I am an avid reader and I follow many authors. That's how I learned about self publishing eBooks. My interest peaked, I researched everything I could find on self publishing. Deciding to go this route instead of formal publishing, took considerable thought (especially considering how difficult it is to be published traditionally).

I'm going to test the waters, self publishing one of my books in eBook format. I chose the first book in a series. If I feel the book is doing ok, even if not, I'll publish the second a month or so after. Keeping low expectations, as I know it's not easy getting out there, I'm staying positive.

Like I said, these next few months will be bananas for me. My friend and I sell our crafts and such at our local farmers market. Right now we're building up stock, preparing for the new season to begin in April. We sew wonderful gifts for kids and families. I also plan on adding a few of my paintings to the mix.

My New Year's Resolution is to go for it. Go for everything I would normally hesitate on. So, here I am!

Within the next few weeks I'll have my first eBook published. After that it's a waiting game :)
